SOFTECH INFLATABLE SUP DIRECTIONS

CARTON CONTENTS

INFLATION PROCEDURE
1. Remove the board from the backpack and unroll it on a smooth, level surface. Ensure there are no sharp objects under the board that may pierce the material once inflated.

2. Attach the hose to the pump. The pressure gauge is built into the top of the pump handle.

3. The valve on the SUP has two positions: inflate and deflate. (To inflate, the valve head needs to be in the raised position. Twist and push down to lock the valve head into the deflate position).
4. Attach the other end of the hose to the valve on the rear of the SUP as shown. To attach the hose, push it into the valve then twist clockwise to lock it into place.

5. Stand the pump on a hard, level surface and start pumping. The first time you inflate the SUP it will require more effort than subsequent inflations, and the final stages of inflation may require extra effort.
6. Make sure you keep your hands at the centre of the pump handles when pumping and your feet firmly on the footrests at the base of the pump.

7. Pump time varies by user, but normally takes 3 to 6 minutes. We recommend inflating the board between 13 - 15 psi. A higher psi provides optimum performance. Once inflated, remove the pump hose and put the valve cover in place.

WARNING: DO NOT USE AN AIR COMPRESSOR. It will result in damage to the board and will void all warranties. Maximum air pressure for this product is 15 psi. DO NOT INFLATE BEYOND 15 psi. Inflatable SUP boards are not warranted against over inflation.
NOTE: If you leave your board exposed to the hot sun, check the pressure and deflate it slightly. The board may become over inflated and stretch the material. The ambient temperature affects the tube’s internal pressure; a variation of 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit (1°C) causes a variation of the pressure in the tube of +/- 0.06psi (4mbBar).

FIN INSTALLATION
1. Turn the board over with the fin box facing up.
2. Remove the screw and plate from the front of the fin, then insert the plate into the fin box and push it towards the top end of the box.

3. Slide the back of the fin into the fin box, making sure the pin engages with the channels, then slide the fin to the back of the box.

4. Push the front of the fin into the box and line up the fin and plate holes. Insert the screw into the front of the fin until it connects with the plate, then screw and tighten to secure the fin in place.

ANKLE LEASH INSTALLATION
1. The leash is provided and must be used when paddling.
2. Remove the string from the velcro rail saver and attach it to the steel D-Ring which is located on the handle at the tail end of the board, then re-attach the velcro rail saver to the string.
3. Attach the cuff section of the leash to your ankle prior to paddling.

PADDLE ASSEMBLY AND USE
1. The telescopic paddle comes in two pieces. Firstly, join both shaft ends together making sure the metal pin engages with the hole provided in the shaft.
2. The paddle length can be adjusted using the clip mechanism at the top of the shaft.

3. Release the clip and slide the handle to the desired height. Use the measurements printed on the shaft as a guide. Optimum paddle height is generally 20cm–25cm above your height.
4. To secure the handle in place, return the clip into to the lock position. Make sure the handle and blade are aligned. (The printed measurements should line up with the logo and pin).

DEFLATION PROCEDURE
1. When you are ready to deflate your SUP, remove the fin and unscrew the valve cover. Now, gently push down the valve head to release the air. Initially, the air will be released with relative force.

2. Once the main pressure has decreased, push down all the way and twist the valve head. This will lock the valve open and allow all the air to escape from the board while you roll it up for storage.
3. Clean and check the board as well as all the accessories. Make sure the board is completely dry before putting it away. Make sure no sand or gravel remains inside the board or between the hull and
the inner chambers. This could result in abrasion or even punctures
while storing the board.
4. Roll the board up starting from the nose with the deck pad on
the inside, the fins will then be on the outside. This roll direction
prevents damage to the flexible composite EVA deck pad.
5. Once completely rolled up, place all components into the backpack.

REPAIRING SMALL PUNCTURES
Small repair patches are supplied with this SUP package. These patches can be used to repair small holes in the PVC material. These patches should be used with a flexible adhesive that’s compatible with the PVC material. For all repairs, Softech recommends taking the SUP to a specialist technician or repairer.

STORAGE AND BOARD CARE
This SUP is manufactured with UV Resistant PVC to provide superior protection from ultraviolet light. However, to ensure extra years of flexibility and bright colours, avoid storing the SUP where it will be exposed to weather or in direct sunlight.

Please review the following list for storage and board care tips:
1. Before storing, hose off the SUP and let it dry completely to prevent mildew build-up. Do not use harsh chemicals for cleaning. Most dirt can be removed with a mild soap and fresh water.
2. Do not store in extreme conditions (above 35c or below 5c). Store in a clean dry place.
3. Remove the fin before rolling up the board.
4. When storing the board for prolonged periods in a deflated status it is best to keep it loosely rolled, or if possible, unroll it completely.
Do not leave the board in direct sunlight as this may cause fading over a prolonged period.
5. You may experience some fin bend when travelling with the board in its bag. Fins can be easily straightened using either the natural heat from the sun or heat from a hair dryer or hot water. The longer the fins have been bent, the longer it will take to straighten them.

AIR LEAK DETECTION
1. If you are losing air pressure, not caused by colder temperatures, check the board for leaks, starting with the valves. A leaking valve is rare, but if you do find a leak a replacement valve is available to order.
2. To locate a leak, we recommend a mixing of soap and water in a spray bottle. Spray around the valve. If you see bubbles forming, check the valve seal and base and be sure the valve insert is screwed tight.
3. If you continue to have problems, it is probably time to order a new valve. Contact Softech for a replacement.
